Mastering the Art of Super Cropping: A Step-by-Step GuideUpdated 5 months ago

Selecting the Right Branches

To achieve the best results, consider super cropping your cannabis plants during the vegetative stage, just before they begin to flower. When choosing branches for super cropping, opt for older, green, and flexible ones. The ultimate goal is to create an even, flat canopy resembling a beautiful green blanket of aromatic herbs.

The Technique of Bending Branches

Super cropping is a technique that involves damaging the inner tissue of the plant without breaking the outer layer, making the stem pliable and easy to manipulate. To achieve this flexibility, follow these steps:

  1. Gently squeeze the branch between your thumb and forefinger where you want it to bend, softening the area.
  2. Slowly twist the branch back and forth between your fingers for about ten seconds.
  3. Continue twisting until the inside of the stem feels soft and pliable.
  4. Carefully bend the stem in the desired direction and secure it in place.

Dealing with Accidental Tears

Sometimes, during the super cropping process, the outer skin of the branch may tear. Don't panic! Duct tape can fix most issues. If you notice any open cracks or tears on the stem's skin after super cropping, use duct tape to reinforce the branch. If there are no visible damages, simply secure the stem in place using string or plant ties. Be gentle but firm, as the branches are flexible but can still break if bent too far. Take time to learn the limits of your plants.

Removing the Tape and Monitoring Recovery

Approximately seven days after super cropping, you should be able to remove any duct tape bandages from your cannabis plants. If the area still appears wounded, apply a new piece of tape and leave it for a few more days until the plant develops a protective "knuckle."

As long as the duct tape reinforces the stem, your cannabis plant will continue its normal processes and nutrient transportation. If your plant tries to straighten out any super cropped branches, use the Low-Stress Training (LST) technique to tie them down.

Insider Tip: Don't be alarmed if the plant tissue shows some discoloration where you applied super cropping. It's a natural occurrence, and your plants should recover just fine!

By following this step-by-step guide, you'll be well on your way to mastering the art of super cropping and creating a lush, even canopy of healthy cannabis plants.
