DIY Terrarium Method

Materials needed:

  • Red solo cup
  • Plastic food wrap
  • Elastic band
  • Soil
  • Germinated seed

Steps:

  1. Prepare the cup:

    • Pierce small drainage holes in the bottom
    • Fill with loose, unpacked soil
    • Lightly water the soil (moist, not soaked)
  2. Plant the seed:

    • Make a small hole with your finger
    • Place the germinated seed, taproot down
    • Cover lightly with soil
  3. Create the terrarium:

    • Wrap the cup with plastic food wrap
    • Secure with an elastic band
    • Pierce small ventilation holes in the wrap
  4. Provide warmth:

    • Place under a domestic or fluorescent light
    • Maintain a warm environment
